FRUITLAND — The city of Fruitland is bringing fun for the whole family to the Fruitland Community Park with Fruitland Family Fun Day on Sept. 14. To say there’s something for everyone is somewhat of an understatement. Fruitland Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kimberly Burgess explained that this one-day event has been something that the Chamber has taken over from Fruitland Community Events and has been putting on for the past couple of years.
Burgess emphasized that this event is free to the public and it’s a chance for the Chamber to “give back to the community for supporting us.” The committee that oversees Fruitland Family Fun Day is made up of local business members working with community volunteers Dawn Callaham, Nancy Lopez and Lucinda Day in bringing this event to the public. Burgess described these three as being the “powerhouses behind the committee” and said how all three brought so much to last year’s event that she would be remiss in not mentioning their contributions.
Lopez organized the entertainment, Day assembled the vendors and Callaham served as event organizer. Burgess explained that she was away from town for an extended period of time and this group of volunteers, along with the committee, were able to bring this event to life. https://www.argusobserver.com/news/fruitland-family-fun-day-flourishes/article_89a1b9e2-d1b7-11e9-93b4-6b910782dd01.html
