Pennsylvania Ave. at a leisurely 2.5-mile per hour pace. All vehicle participants will turn from S. Pennsylvania into SW 7th St. Please continue down SW 7th to the High School Parking lot before stopping. The elementary students and other walking participants will discharge at the Northern entrance of the Middle school. Law enforcement officers will be positioned to assist in discharge direction.
Entrants will be judged and scored on best adherence to the theme, creativity, appearance and overall effort.
PROHIBITIED ITEMS ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE INCLUDE: Weapons, sticks, poles, glass bottles, and any items which may cause injury or interfere with the parade or spectators’ enjoyment of the parade.
PARADE ROUTE BOUNDARY: The Parade Route along Pennsylvania Ave. must not encroach into the Parade Spectator Area. The Parade Route/Spectator Boundary is defined as the existing Bike Path paint on the asphalt located on each side of Pennsylvania Ave. Parade entries may not cross that line for any reason.
CANDY/PRIZES: Throwing of candy or treats is allowed. Please keep in mind the safety of the children you are throwing to and make sure you throw your treats far enough so that the kids do not run out into the path of following vehicles. Please do not let young kids (eight years or younger) be your throwers, their pitching arm may not be strong enough to get the treats to the sides of the road.
